| As translations, in our field, we encounter many confusing terms that may have more than one meaning or have another meaning that does not match with the context of the original text. This matter happened to me personally a lot. Whereas translators strive to convey the required meaning to the closest point to in the target language, I used to spend a lot of time to reach the appropriate meaning of this or that term. | في مجال عملنا، كمترجمين، يصادفنا الكثير من المصطلحات المحيرة والتي قد يكون لها أكثر من معنى، أو يكون لها معنى لا يتوافق مع سياق النص الذي نقوم بترجمته. وهذا الأمر صادفني شخصيا كثيرا، ولأننا كمترجمين نتحرى الدقة لنقل المعنى المطلوب لأقرب نقطة لما يقابله في اللغة المستهدفة في الترجمة، فإنني كنت أبذل الكثير من الوقت للوصول للمعنى المناسب لهذا المصطلح أو ذاك. | |
| In many cases, searching in academic dictionaries is exhausting and useless. I was searching in other places such as Google and scientific encyclopedias until I found what I wanted. | وفي كثير من الأحيان يكون البحث في القواميس الأكاديمية مضنيا وغير ذي جدوى، وكنت أبحث في أماكن النصوص الأخرى عبر جوجل ومواقع الموسوعات العلمية إلى أن أجد ضالتي. | |

Hence, the importance of this dictionary, as it is not considered an academic dictionary as much as it is a professional dictionary or glossary that contains the juice of the experiences of translators from different countries on their travels while searching for non-vernacular or highly specialized terms. |
